Default KR question

OK here is one for ya. I noticed a pattern. My car while at steady speed sets off the knock sensor to read 2.7 every 15 seconds. its like clock work. Cruise and it goes off at 2.7 let off the gas and it goes to 0. Cruise again...15 seconds 2.7 kr. if you dont let off the kr counts it self down but once it hit 0 and you wait 15 seconds it does it again. What is my car telling me?

I think this may be the closed loop fuel trimming and/or
the proportional fueling that drives the cross-events it
needs, overshooting the mark. Do you see the STFTs
moving on a similar timescale? Are the NBO2s in a
sleep-and-leap mode on that order of timescale?

If there is one injector that's out-of-bed lean with the
rest, that would magnify the knock sensitivity of the
motor to these systematic fuel perturbations.
