Exclamation LS2 Edit - It's out! Watch out HP Tuner & EFI Live!

Watch out HP Tuners & EFI Live, you better hurry up or you'll loose market share!

I'm surprised no one has posted this yet. I saw this in the latest issue of GM High Tech Performance.

Hey isn't Brian Reese the Engineering Director at SLP? You would think someone from Carputing, LCC would announce it initally, I guess.

The graphical interface is the same which sucks. You can't import an excel into LS1 Edit. Also, you can't hit the arrow key to move to the next cell in tables while using LS1Edit. You have to type in each number. Can't copy + paste easy. They REALLY should have of redone the interface.

lol watch out for what......losing 2% of the market that wanna use another ls1edit product after trying Hptuners or EFIlive? yeah right. Hptuners will have their LS2 support and I dont see them worrying too much over LS2 edit.

Just passing info along the way...

I know that HP Tuner & EFI Live don't have to worry too much if any, but I'm very surprised Carputing came out with LS2 Edit first for the masses.

I won't be selling my HP Tuners anytime soon...

I'm sure it probably doesn't have half the features that HPT or EFI does, so I won't be too surprised when it is their last attempt in this market.

Touchscreen pc's are the best for tuning, but a tablet, without a keyboard is hard to tune with when you need to type a lot of numbers.

Interface still looks old and outdated.

Wrong: you can copy / paste from / to Excel no problems.
I actually scan with Edit and elaborate the data with Excel, then copy the tables in Edit. Really easy.
If you know how to use Excel you can do almost everything with Edit

FWIW, Carputing started working on it in 2004. It's been available for testing for over a year (as I ordered a large batch of circuit boards this time last year), but I guess this is the first big 'press' that it's seen.

Bullshit. You can't copy tables easily from Excel into LS1Edit. You can't use LS1Edit like Excel. LS1Edit has a tough-to-use interface. You have to manually click on each square and edit it. You can't paste many cells into a table in LS1Edit at the same time. I have LS1Edit and use it often.

Also, I find it funny that LS2Edit is still using serial communications to go from the interface to the laptop. I don't have a problem with RS232 since the car is using serial communications anyways, but many newer laptops don't come with a RS232 port. They have USB only.

The cable that is pictured is a USB cable... it's a serial looking cable from the OBDII port to the Cable, then USB out of the cable...

Hey, it works here...
I prefer to copy the whole table also if I changed only few values.
"Copy" in Excel, "select all" in Edit, "paste" in Edit.
Works also the opposite way.
