Codes P1153 and P1133
Drove my 2002 Z28 (H/C, LT's, TD's, etc.) the other night in the cold (about 30 degrees, maybe less) weather and after driving 4 or 5 blocks the SES light came on and my scanmaster said I had codes P1153 and P1133. I did a search but the search feature is kinda messed up right now. It seems like guys with long tubes have these codes from time to time because theres not enough heat retention with the longer tubes for the O2 sensors to heat up fast enough. I started the car cold and drove very slow until it warmed up (my usual process). My A/F looked fine on my WB.
Am I having the same problem as others with long tubes or is something wrong? Do I need new O2 sensors?
I have been driving this car for a year and never had this problem. And I've driven it in the cold as well. If I need new O2 sensors what should I get? It should be noted the car is getting a new engine and D1SC next month, if it matters on O2 selection.
Thanks!!!!

Those are "insufficent switch" codes for both banks. You probably know that already.I had the same codes a few weeks ago after i installed my LG longtubes on my c5,ended up having to buy new o2's,i used A/C delco AFS-97.There square connectors, and my front o2 wiring harness is flat, but adaptors came in the header kit,all is fine now..After asking a ton of advise from this section,it seems o2 only last about 20,000 miles or with longtubes.
Hope this helps.

Yep, my experience has been that you just have to keep replacing your o2's every now and then. I use bosch #13111's. The wires are long enough to eliminate the o2 extensions.

I guess what I don't get is how replacing them will fix it? If its caused by the long tubes, won't the new O2's code too? And I think the kid I bought this car from cut off the plugs for the O2 sensors (to lengthen the wires maybe?) so hopefully the colors match up!

The minute you start your car with new o2s,they begin to age,the effect of aging is,the switching slows down with age, since the fronts are further back now than the origanal position, normal life span is decreased.
My corvette fuel injection book says even a stock car should change every 50,000 miles, with long tubes it's about 1/2 that.
