Default Leaving the LTrims Disabled

I have been fine tuning using the STFT's and have them dead nuts on. I have already set up the VE table with the LC-1 and %AFR Error. For all of this, I had the long term trims disabled via HP Tuners. Is there any positive/negative to leaving them disabled? Once I enable them, they go positive 2-4% and the STFT's are -2% to 0%. I have notice zero change in gas mileage and have not seen any detrimental effects of leaving them disabled.
