Default Need some help leaning out startup OL

Ok, I asked before and forgot to print out the recommended steps and cant find it via search...

My AFR is rich as hell when I first start up, while its in OL mode. I see OL fueling tables, but not sure if there is a specific table I should adjust, or not adjust. I'd like to initial start up at 13.3 and gradually warm up to 14.7 rather than 9.x and slowly lean out. Thanks.

Thanks...how long you going to be in NV? I am heading to AZ this summer, will be driving from port (Long beach or something) to Sierra Vista, so wont be to far from you. Not sure 9hrs of this 10sec beast will be that fun, but my son will enjoy it.

Oh yeah, I'll check the OL FA vs ECT, think thats what I was told before, and to check it off the 35kPa or something. Thanks.

Check out afterstart enrichment as well Charlie. That is a factor applied to the OLFA table which results in your final commanded AFR.

On average, how much should you lean it out by, 5, 10%?

I lowered mine some, but I can't remember off hand what I did, but it did show on the WB.

I honestly don't have a direct answer to that. I have noticed that if the car is too rich, you will have some startup issues and the same if it is too lean. I normally will do the math and shoot for inital startup around 12AFR and decay out a little faster then normal. This also will help on teh funky smell upon startups.

What do you set the decay to? Care to post the modified table for decay?

Just make it decay 25% faster and then go from there. It will depend on what your car wants.

Chad, on the afterstart decay delay, is that seconds? What are the values in that table?

Test it out on each of your own cars and see what works best for you. There is no golden value.
