ls1edit programming, password lock or is the program locked to cable?

can ls1edit be unlocked without loosing a professional tune??
of do u loose everything once its unlocked?

just researching, i know my tuner locked the puter, i have a blower on it and they tuned it.

i have hpt for my daughters car but hpt wants another 200 to add the vette (2000) for which may be a mute point if i cant get into it.
thats why i asked the specific questions.
