Default Were do you do this at HPT?

Were do you set the output of the Wideband side should be set to 1/12 or 1/6th second output-update rate

output of the Narrowband side should be set to 1/6th second output-update rate(best simulate the response of the stock o2 sensor

In HPT.

That's done on the wideband's side...not HPT. You have to tell the wideband to do it. The HPT software has nothing to do with this.

It's in the LMProgrammer, under whichever analog output you are using, the "Advanced" button.

That's why I could not find it. I was looking for it in HPT.

Thanks for the fast reply.

The key is, they need to be consistent. You can look at
the HPTuners standard transfer curve and set the LM-1
/ LC-1 to the same, but you might prefer to get more
resolution & less error, by compressing the range some
and then you'd have to set them both up and hope they
remember. Which is not to be taken on faith. I know my
LM-1 has "forgotten" settings on me before.

...and you also have ground offsets to worry about, but mine didn't amount to much. Still, something to consider.

I trust my LC-1 about as far as I can throw it...and although that is pretty far, it ain't far enough for my comfort.

now how do you compensate for a ground difference?

Set the LC-1 to output a set voltage across all AFRs (like 1.0 volts). Then, with your HPT scanner, log the Raw Voltage (instead of the standard AFR). See how far it is off. To make it even better, you could even verify the LC-1 voltage output with a third-part device (your handheld multimeter) just to make sure it is actually putting out 1.0 volts.

Gather a few data points, and go from there. Most of this is covered here:

What firmware do you have in it? Some of the earlier firmware versions had connectivity problems.

Basic things to check:

Make sure terminator plug is fully seated (I think it has to be in the IN cable)
Make sure serial -> 2.5mm cable is fully seated.
Make sure the LC-1 has power (as in, turn the key to ON)

If those all check out, just keep connecting and reconnecting the wires, and keep opening and closing the program until it does connect. Sometimes it is a little bit stubborn.

You might disregard the firmware part...I think you have to be in the program to find out

I'm not sure what that is.

I've checked everthing else pluged and unpluged opened and closed. Nothing works.

I did not have the terminator plug installed.

It's working now.

Everyone sees that thing, and thinks "WTF is this?" Yeah...that's an important little plug
