Default need help

i bought a car about a 10 months ago that was tuned by a shop here in tx. for about 3 months now when i start the car, the tach doesnt work for a few seconds and then suddenly the tachometer pegs the 7K mark and the speedo runs up to about 120 but then they both fall down and work properly. all my gages work fine once it finishes this "crap" up. also when this happens it resets my trip meter. when all of this first started it didnt do it all the time, now it does it every start. i know the car was tuned with ls1 edit if this helps. do you suppose i have a bad ground or something like that, or is this normal for f-bodies? thanks.

Possibly a chunk of a C5 tune. All my gauges sweep when I turn the key on

When you take the whole guage cluster out, and put it back in the gauges do that sweeping thing, maybe the gauge cluster is bot pushed all of the way into the socket.

Default guages

I have actually only had one car that did somthing similuar to this, the speedo, tach and fuel gauge did some crazy things, the guy came back and told me after the tune a few days later it started doing this, of course I though he was full of crap, what does a tune have to do witht the guages. Well just to try and help him out, I re-flashed the pcm with the same tune and whala! all worked fine. This was with LS1 Edit....Go figure

well just to give an update, i had some time to work on the car yesterday and i worked out some bugs with other parts of the car, but i took out the computer and installed one that is stock. so when i cranked the car, it still does it. so now i know that it has nothing to do with the tune. today i will pull out the gage cluster and reinstall it to see if it had lost connection.
