Default What would make a car..........

jump idle to 1400rpms?

If I start my car it jumps right to 1000 rpms and bobs back and from 950-1050 which is fine. If I leave it idle for like 25 minutes it will slowly get up to temp and then (sometimes) decide to jump(not climp steadily, like something kicked in or something) up to a steady 1400 rpms. I can put it in gear and it idles fine around 850, then if I put it back in park it will jump back up to 1400 Rpms again.

Any ideas?

Too much airflow somewhere. Did you drill your throttle plate, or maybe you have an air leak somewhere?

Yep idle air. Monitor your iac counts.

I really hate this whole airflow deal.

Right now I:

1. Cold start the car up and log via HPtuners histogram the desired airflow. 2. Let the car warm up with the fans off
3. Shut her down
4. Generate new tune with new airflow
5. Clear fuel trims
6. Start car and the thing barely idles with new numbers.

So then I get pissed and put old numbers in and it idles great. This happened with BOTH P/N and IN-GEAR idle airflow numbers(RAF).

Do i need to add a step in BEFORE step one to clear fuel trims?

IAC counts start ~130-145 and slowly make there way down to a steady 45-60 when fully warmed up.
