Default MVPI not working with laptops compusa brand PCMCIA USB card.

MVPI not working with laptops compusa brand PCMCIA USB card.

My 4 year old Toshiba's USB ports are wornout/messed-up, & you have to hold the USB plug in at an angle to make it work at all. I loaded the MPVI software/a&b drivers/'key' this way, & even did a 'read' of my PCM with this wornout Toshiba port.
So, I bought the compusa pcmcia 2-port USB card, loaded it's software, & my mini-usb storage devices love it. With device manager open I can see them fine, & they work fine. When I plug the MPVI in, nothing happens at all, except for the green power light coming on, on the MPVI box. Nothing shows up in device manager at all, when I plug the MPVI into the PCMCIA USB port ? If I try to scan/connect, error,NO OPEN COMM PORT. Do I have a IRQ problem, or some other software problem ? How would I know, or how can I tell, where would I look ? I don't know much about finding this type of problem ?

Thanks,
Dave

Did you install the drivers for both USB chips? You need to install drivers twice when you initially plug the device in.

Hello,
Yes, I did the A & B drivers.
It turned out to be a power problem, The 2 port USB pcmcia card needed a power adapter, as the MPVI needs 150ma.
