What were these wires tapped for?
Once again, I have found something on my car that someone has previously messed with. Does anyone know what these wires were tapped for? The one with the wire tap still attached is LT BLUE/WHITE and the other wire with insulation cut off is RED/BLACK (power for something?). I found this page http://www.ls2.com/boggs/torques/2001pinpcm.htm through a search showing pinouts for a 2001 PCM but I don't know how different my PCM is from what's shown there.

If this car is the one in your sig, the signal was possibly used for an aftermarket Tach or two step. That is possibly the tach output signal (pin 35 on blue connector). I can't see what pinout # it is, but that would be the correct color wire.

usually the installation is fairlt simple on most cars. i used to install them along time ago and i know there is a module that is needed to bypass the vats system... the tach wire is def tapped and the remote starter usually uses its own relays to actually do the starting of the motor.
the only wires you might see tapped are power, ignition, some wires for the vats and the wire for the neutral safety. but its been along time since i put these in.
if it was an amatuer then they might have been probing wires with a test light or stripping them back to see what they do.. EEK!
good luck on your hunt.. im hunting wires today also in getting my harness to run stand alone!! its an uphill battle always with wiring
