Default Tuning with new gears

Well i had my 3.42 gears installed last weekend. My question is when the shop installed them they accidently tuned the gears for a set of 3.73 not 3.42s. What would this do besides throw my speedo off a little bit? Would it have any performance consequences? Its getting retuned this weekend, but when i was driving around i noticed it shifted harder and had some dead spots in certain speeds(not the typical ones either). Just wondering if the tune makes that big a difference usually?

your auto trans uses MPH as part of the shifting... so it's going to mess up the A4 shift points, it'll report wrong mileage in the odometer, trip meter will be wrong, speedo will be wrong

But biggest thing is the A4 shifting will be incorrect

ah so no real performance loss from the tune being off. Could the shifting actually make the car slower or feel slower?

um.. your transmission shifting at the wrong time..... can be a performance loss...

your auto trans uses MPH as part of the shifting
short shifting or "long" shifting will definetly affect your performance......

and yes... short or long shifting can make the car slower.... get the car tuned correctly (if the shop fucked up... then they should fix it for free !!! unless they're using LS1 Edit it's a 30 second fix!)
