Default iac counts high at cold idle

when my car first starts my iac counts are in te 170's as it heats up they drop to zero.. how do i fix this

as of not my set screw is removed but i have a 9\16 hole in my tb blade

also i notice my stit starts out low (-.2 lb\min) and it slowly works its way up to (-.91 lb\min) as the car warms up

if anyone is intrested i have this all loged in a 8 min warmup hpt log it shows all the idle pids so hopefully if someone views it they should really have a good idea whats going on...

thanks!

Have a large cube motor, heads/cam or aftermarket throttle body? One or all of those combinations can change the effectiveness of the IAC.

I've seen some large cube motors commanding 310 steps if started cold with the a/c on and steadily drop to 0 as it warms up. Normally this is caused by the motors demand for air outgrowing the iac's effectiveness.

If the car still runs at 0 counts, no amount of airflow adjustment would make a difference. Is the motor over revving when its up to 170 counts?

Did you ever figure this out?

I think this could be my idle problem as well. My RAF is in-line, and my startup A/F is where is needs to be, but my startup idle hunts until the IAC values drop down. I too see IAC position below 10 when its warmed up and it idle nicely.
