Shift Solenoid Help
Driving the car the other day and i was at a stop light and went to start to go and it felt like the tranny was slipping like crazy, i immediatly pulled over and turned the car off, checked my fluids, turned her back on and she felt fine for the rest of the night.
Drove the car to my friends house and we took his car out for about 5 hours, my car sat the whole time, get back and she felt like she was slipping again. Drove down to the local BBQ meet and my buddy checked the code on my car it came up with
P0758 SHIFT SOLENOID B ELECTRICAL
After we cleared the code it went away, last night she did the same thing, so i reset the PCM and she started acting normal again. What the heck do i need to replace? or do? i need some help please!

the most recent mods have been
Paceseter Long Tube Headers
TSP ORY with 3" cutout and o2 sims
The mod before that is
Yank SS3600 which has only been on the car for a few months.

Since it says electrical I'd look for a wiring fault; the big
connector, the wiring harness (maybe pinched / nicked /
melted with the header install or subsequently). If that
is clean then while the connector is off, check the coil
resistance via the connector pins for that solenoid (you
would need the connector info) and see if it responds to
connector pin wiggling, case thumping, etc. Maybe go so
far as to drop the pan and wiggle the internal wires by
hand looking for the ohmmeter to jump.

Now when you say drop the pan on the tranny, i know there is a crap load of wires in there aswell, if i notice a wire that is not completely hooked up on the wiring harness, should i hook up the meter to that wire and then go under the car and wiggle the wires around? if that doesnt work....would it be worth it to take it to a chevy dealership if i cannot find the problem?
Anyone remember if you HAVE to take out the Valvebody to remove solenoid B?
Hey Chad, did you ever find anything out with that tune I sent you?

ok so i checked the wire harness on the tranny and all the wires around aswell, everything looks good. I reset the PCM and went out for a drive, everything felt good, i came to a stop light and RIGHT before i come to a complete stop i here like a thump and the SES light goes off, i go to take off and she starts slipping like crazy and takes a lot of throttle to start to move her. Its the same fkn code damnit.
So would i have to replace the whole Solenoid itself? and since im down there replacing B should i replace the other one aswell?

I think you're going to feel a little a little sheepish after you get it changed out, solenoids are cheap and easy to replace.
You're probably starting out in 2nd gear instead of first, so it just FEELS like its slipping more due to the converter... but I could be wrong. I can't really tell you from your description which one you'd need. If you can, put it on a scanner and watch for what the commanded gear is, and see if you can feel your tranny shift when it commands a new one. That'll tell you which gear/solenoid is having the issue.
