Can I just buy the EFILive cable and borrow a CD w/ extra lic to use this software

Can I just buy the EFILive cable and borrow a CD w/ extra lic to use this software Basically wondering if i cound just buy the cable to connect between laptop and pay someone to let me use their software if they have another license? Once the cd is installed you can use the software without the disc correct?

You could borrow someones cable and pay the license cost if you know someone with it.
Otherwise you can dl the software for free anyway, but as TAQuickness says you need to buy the hardware. Consider it like a hardware dongle. The software wont communicate with the PCM without the hardware.

Is the hardware that you mention just the cable? Cause that's priced at $22 on the website. If I download the software and buy the cable and lic, what else do I need?

I believe the $22 cable is just a patch cable, not the cable with the black box thingamajiggie on it...
but yes if you had a friend you could share his cable as long as he has an extra license...
