a/c and idle help needed
Not sure if this is in the right area, but maybe. I have a 98 t/a with an f11 cam and tuned with ls1 edit. Besides it being a bit rich, whenever i turn on the a/c at idle, the car dies. Anything above idle, the a/c works great. I dont have the program to see if there is a spot to increase idle when a/c is on. Could that be the problem? Or maybe an electrical connection, not telling the car to speed up idle?

There are some A/C accessory load params / tables
that should bump up the idle airflow and maybe spark
too. I don't know what these are called or if they are
available in Edit. Probably the idle is so weak (large
cam) that it can't ride out the "sag" when the A/C kicks
on. This could be more about the idle airflow values and
idle learning at the root of it all but if the rest is good
(no surging / stalling) then maybe you just want to
deal with the A/C-specific load issue at idle.

I hope you're not going by just exhaust smell to determine rich/lean.
What kind of fuel trims are you seeing at idle?

i am basing my guess at rich idle based on the black smoke you can BARELY see coming out as it sits idling. i dont know about the tables, as i had someone else do the tune.

All you need is a good scanner to read the fuel trims.
Or you could just hook up a wideband.
