Default AFR Error MAF Tuning

What is the basic procedure for MAF tuning via AFR Error with a wideband? Am I correct in assuming that this method uses the 7th default histogram (HP Tuners)?

If that's right, how exactly do you correlate all the different MAPs with the right MAF frequencies?

MAF frequency is plotted in ~62 rows against all RPM's in one column. The histogram should reflect the table in the tuning section. Log commanded AFR and WBO2 AFR as the data points in the histogram. MAF % Error is actual AFR divided by commanded AFR. So, if you logged 9.0 AFR and commanded 10.0 AFR....you're too rich. So, 9/10 is 90% or a 10% decrease you would need to make. Make sense?

Search "speed density" in the help section of your scanner.

It explains everything pretty well.

Correction, the info you need is in the editor help section > Tuning How To's >
User Submitted. Towards the bottom of the page is Dialing in the Maf. The map
is not used for the maf. You need to log maf hz, commanded afr high res. and
your wideband afr.

yeah & just load in the maf error histo...add any filters you'd like & use that to correct your maf table.

Ok, sorry to bring this back from the dead but I didn't get a chance to work on this until now.

I am still really confused. I feel like I've gotten like 5 different sets of directions. Right now I have histogram 8 set to give me Commanded AFR vs. MAF frequency. Do I set up another to do Wideband AFR vs. MAF frequency and just take percentages?

HPTuners provides you with the MAF - AFR error histogram...just make sure your logging maf in hz, your wideband, and commanded afr in the scanner & the histo will do the rest. Then its just a matter of setting up any filters that you want. If you need the histo or a config file let me know & I'll send you some.

Thanks
Bill

What kind of AFR's are you seeing what type of camshaft etc. Will play a big role in the AFR as read by the Wideband. Is the MAf molested ported housing ends etc ?
