Default Help!! Which Wideband??

I am looking to get a wideband AFG and I can't make up my mind on which one to get. I have been looking at the AEM and the LC-1. I haven't heard anything bad about the AEM. I have heard of people having problems with the LC-1 overheating. Don't know exactly what they are talking about, however it is in a thread here. Looks like the LC-1 would be harder to hook up. Someone help!!!!!!!!!!

thanks

I've got the dynojet and love it, I think my 2nd choice may have been the aem but go check the features on the dynojet website...

Another vote for the LC-1 I have the LC-1 with XD-16 gage - never had any problems. Chad @ Green Light Motorsports is running a special on these right now for a great price. I think I'm going to pick up another for my other T/A.

I have a zeitronix kit with LCD and i love it. It is accurate (I compared it to the dyno wideband) and it looks pretty cool in front of the shifter.

That is the last wideband I would personally look at.

OK, I heard tons of that **** but i tried one anyway and it works perfectly fine. And I have ran it at a dyno with the dyno wideband as well and it is very accurate so if it is accurate then what is the big problem?? The variance between the dyno wideband and mine was less than .5 Can someone please explain it to me why they dont like it because it has worked out great for me.

Its outputs are horrible to configure. That is why it isn't supported by HPTuners or EFILive. Non-Linear last time I checked.

That can be possible but I dont use either of the those tuning suites. I dont remember the voltage vs AFR signal but i can look on the paper to see if it is linear or not. Anyway the thing works great for me.

heres the signal graph

Yup, non-linear. To use it in a manner that is needed for proper tuning, it just isn't practicle. Now to use it like you are it works flawless as I used it like that for sometime. Don't get me wrong, it is a decent wideband. It would be a lot better if it offered a programable linear output though.

Right it does not work with tuning software although i used it to tune WOT AFR by using its logging capability and my LS1 Scan logs. I just had to do a few simple calculations and i got the WOT AFR dead on what i want to with commanded PE AFR being my actual read AFR. So since i got my end result done perfect with it, i see no problem with it. If you wanted to run a wideband with your tuning software then it isnt for you.

Why go through all the trouble when there's easier, more accurate stuff available? Not bagging on your WB, I just don't see why I'd do that to myself, for no good reason.

i used the LC-1.. its cheap, it was easy to wire and use, and its widely supported online if you have a problem.

because i like the way it looks and its dead accurate and I use LS1 Edit which has no wideband capability anyway. Also it has boost gauge capabilities as well as EGT and a custom user sensor ability. Its like 3 gauges in one in case i go boosted which i might someday.

And did you read where I said that it is dead accurate compared to a dyno dynamics free air calibrated wideband???

AEM is great, Brads zeitronix is a really nice unit, The LC-1s are nice but to many problems pop up imo.

What is the major probs with the lc-1. I have seen several posts on probs with it. They say it is a bad batch. The calibrations on the lc-1 looks like a pain. Still don't know which one to get. Afraid I might be stepping into a lot of probs with the LC-1.
