Have converter and gears etc: Still have the dead spot @ 40MPH.
Is there any tuning I can do with the Predator that I can change it so it down shifts to 1st? I know the problem is well documented with the stock converter but most report it goes away after changing to an aftermarket converter. I have the vig 2800/3:73 combo and it still doesn't kickdown all the way at 40. Is my only fix a bigger stall or are there some tunning options with the MPH and RPM settings or something else I am missing? Thanks!

when i bought my vette new in 01 i had that problem too it was fixed by dealer free. in 03 i put a yank 3200 and 342's the guys at ecs in nj programmed all that in. you are close at 40 mph for it to be a waste to go down cause its only going to up shift .

it was a tsb . they plugged in to the diag. connector and reprogrammed the bcm. when i say a dead spot i mean DEAD SPOT . this only occured rarely eg entrance ramp 40 mph then WOT . we are talking an a4 ? it seems vettes , ta,s etc all have that 40 mph bog. i have it much much less since stall and gear swap .
