I'm not an expert but I just installed mine so I've recently read through all the documentation. I'm pretty sure that if you power-up the LC-1 for 10-20 seconds without the sensor connected it will automatically do a heater and free air calibration when you reconnect the sensor. Also, you can just briefly short the black calibration wire to the unshielded ground wire in the LC-1 cable to force a calibration. Just make sure the sensor is in "free-air" before you initialize a calibration.

I would definately hook up the LED and the cal button. If your LC-1 starts throwing codes (like many of ours do) you won't know it without the LED....well I guess when the car starts bucking and running like crap you'll know it...or not

Not running the lc-1 anymore, But the calibration button and led are optional. You can do everything through Log Works if you choose.

You can also just unplug the sensor, turn it on, turn it off, plug the sensor back in, and the next time you apply power it'll recalibrate
