Default Custom tune?

I bought the jet reprogrammer for my ws6. Am I supposed to get much from this,
cause I'm not gettin jack. Tried stage 1, then 2, now I'm fartin' around with +4 shift points and bumopin' up the rev limiter +400 rpm. To make a long story short
should I be like "damn" or should I have someone custom tune it. I got your average mods on my a4.

How much did that hand-held cost?

I think you ought to try and return it and buy a tuning suite

Handhelds aren't going to give you "dang" power increases. If you are lucky you might get 5 or 10 hp.

The purpose they serve is mostly to give a simple way of adjusting for gears and changing fan temps, along with scanning and clearing trouble codes. There really isn't much benefit in changing shift points/rev limiters on stock cars, and many people agree that transmission pressure changes aren't worth it.

If your main goal here is power then the money is better spent on a professional tune (if your mods are done) or a tuning suite (if you have the time and ability to learn yourself).

So selling it and having it custom tuned is the way to go. I'll try to sell it for 250. I paid 340. Hopefully the tune won't cost more than 300.

most tuners are getting smart acknowledging that bolt on tunes are far easier then cam or head/cam combo's and are charging less & less for them just to get you business...$250 seems to be the going rate for a bolt on tune near me.

If you post a location you might get some recommendations. Just make sure to do a search on the company name before you jump right in, some places have less positive feedback than others.
