Default Would a 98 PCM work with an 02 motor?

My buddy swapped an 02 LS1 long block into is 98 TA. The car is an M6 and he reused the 98 injectors on the 02 motor. Can he use the 98 PCM with the 02 motor swap?

Should work as long as he keeps the 98 harness, 98 pcm have a different pin out then the 99+ pcm.
