Default AEM wideband in factory O2 bung?

Hey guys. I read somewhere that the AEM O2 sensor would not screw into the rear O2 on the factory Y-pipe. Will it? Is this an ok spot to be mounted in?
Im going to have the cats gutted and then(hopefully) install the AEM sensor in the rear bung and plug the other. Thanks.

All O2 Bungs ahve the same thread, it will work on the rear O2 bung. Your readings will be slightly off due to the sensor not being close to the collector. JFYI.

Yes it will work fine in the facrtory O2 bung which is 18mm. You dont want it too close to the engine because excessive heat will affect the accuracy of the sensor. In most off road exhaust (non catalytic) applications it is suggested you place the sensor 2-3 foot from the end of the tail pipe in the 9 to 3 o clock position to keep the sensor safe from high temperatures and condensation.

Good deal. Ok, well i just thought, by placing it there, it will only be reading one bank, is that ok?

Well, then let me rephrase my question. Where should I mount it? Should I have the bung welded into place somewhere on the pipe, or use the rear )2 bungs?

Yeah I have installed the Bosch LSU4 in multiple vehichles that way and it works fine but if you'd rather have it in the Y you can do it that way too.

Its a matter of choice, personally I'd just use one of the rear O2 bungs as long as you dont have cats.
