HPT question-version 1.4 cs. 2.1x
I just upgraded from 1.4 to 2.1 something. I noticed when I read a .bin that was saved in 1.4 that the vin field is blank. I want to write one of my older tunes that was saved in 1.4 to the car. Will the lack of a vin mess me up?

That is an excellent question.
98's do not store the VIN in the raw .bin file, thus its not available in the 1.x software, or in the 2.x software using files that were originally stored in .bin format.
You can still use your file. You can also just re-read your vehicle with the latest 2.x and you will have your vin in the HPT file as well.
