Default transmission pressures in EFI LIVE??

I'm tunning with efi live and am wondering about setting the trans pressures, i noticed that under the performance setitng all the base pressures are set at 620.5 Kpa but under the normal setting they are lower than that much lower. I was wondering what you guys are setting your pressures at and what is the limit? if any. thans

F-bodies don't use the performance setting. That table was there incase the car had a button linked to the PCM that would activate that table. Some cars I've been in have had something like this. However, we don't use it.

As for how to tweak your shift pressures...I'd go in small steps. Generally, I don't like to add more than 30~40kPa on to the stock tables. Also, be careful with the 3>4 shift table as this is one of the weak links in the 4L60E. Usually, a 5% increase in shift pressures and a 5% decrease in desired shift times will help tighten things up a little.

so setting the base table to the performance setting would be a bad idea i take it? I remember the 94 trans am of my buddy has the switch in the console for this but i understand it was a one yr optio apparently.

Just do a percentage across the board under the Normal column. Setting the Normal column to the Performance column will have your trans shifting at full line pressure (not good). Hopefully, you still have your stock tune. If not, go download a stock tune for your operating system. Then, you can use the compare feature to see how much your tune differs from stock.

Again, I'd try 5% at first like I mentioned above. The most you'll add with a 5% increase is ~30kPa on the 1>2 shift and ~25kPa on the 2>3 shift with the 2002 tables.

Bif, post pics of your shift pressure tables.

Also, might be easier to work with if you configure the units to psi.

If you remove the serpentine belt (i.e. removing the alternator, power steer. pump, water pump, AC compressor, idler/tensioner pulleys) do you still hear the whine...?

If it was the converter or converter bearing/seal or trans. pump, you would hear it always, even at idle.

How loud is it...?
Does it only happen in manual 2nd...?
Might be 2nd gear components related (planetary gears or thrust washers or...).
It's not pressure regulator "buzz"/"drone"...?
If it's not too loud should be ok.
Maybe someone could add their comments.

It may be the pressure regulator drone because it only tends to happen when im under 25%+ throttle when the converter starts to stall more, ill check these few things today and see if i can get an exact location for sure
