Default need help with two codes, please

the car is a 2000 camaro z28. i have put on full custom exhaust with long tube headers. i have been fighting two codes, i did have more but i replaced one of the o2 sensors. i have a diablo sport tuner that reads the codes and resets them. every time i reset them, the next time the engine runs a cycle it throws the same codes... here they are according to the tuner.

P0161 O2S heater circuit, Bank 2- sensor 2 malfunction.

P1153 HO2S Bank 2 sensor 1. insufficient switching.

if someone could tell me what these codes mean, and how to fix them i would be forever greatfull. my state has passed an emissions test to take and i cant pass it with this going on. thank you for any comments that you could give me!

do you have an exhaust leak on that side? That could cause it. Or maybe some burnt wires for the headers.

You can look them up at gearchatter.com but it assumes your stock. Did you delete the cats - running sims - which 02 did you replace?

This is just a thought but what brand of sensor did you get? I went through 3 of the Bosh on my vette at the local Napa and finally gave up and ordered some from GM Parts Direct. After that I never had a problem

I was thinking, since you have a P1153 bank 2 sensor 1 , well that code usually means that the sensor is bad. Since that one is in front it could cause the rear one to malfunction, just like the code says. i would replace the front on the bank 2 and i bet it will take care of the problem

had the same prob. i did most of what you've done plus more. all in all..it was the secondary air injection tha was the culprit, the; (air pump)! no more codes. check the air pump. let us know the result

The p0161 rear o2 bank 2 heater is bad, as long as the wires are ok. Most likely they are, heaters go bad often. The p1153 front 02 bank 2 sounds like it's lazy. You should relace it also. I like to use factory parts but you said you repaced the other front sensor already with a bosh? If you haven't had any codes pop up for that sensor you might want to put a bosh on the other side aswell.
All 4 of mine went bad after I put my longs on. One at a time. Good luck.

well i put two new O2 sensers in bank one and two, and erased the codes with my diablo, and it seems to have done the trick. i took it today to get the emissions test done and it passed with flying colors. i just wanna say thanks for all the help and hopefully i can get it tuned now
