Default Traction Control Mod

Ok so you guys know SLP sells this module that makes traction control set to off when you start the car. I was wondering if I can do that without the module. Is it possible just to tune it so that the traction control will be off? is there any other way? I just always turn it off whenever I drive and would like to keep it off by default. Thanks in advance.

Noper...the traction control system uses a different computer that we don't get access to with HPT or EFI.

You can pull the fuse and put a small peice of electrical tape behind the gage overlay to block the indicator light.

ASR will then be 100% dead with no impact to anything else. Just no ASR.

You can also just pull the connector at the pulley cluster
and it will fault out.

Is it true that if you disable the TCS that the PCM does something with the timing/throttle relaxer etc etc? I've read that and would like to know if it's true.

If you unplug the relaxer it just faults to ASR OFF. No
action I could detect.

If you fool it into thinking the relaxer is still connected
it will apply retard, (bogus) relaxer and ABS in that order.
The ABS is not fun. Hoped it would be a smart traction
improved and instead it just clamped down hard and
made unhappy noises, all 16 seconds' worth of the 1/4.

Hey, you don't know 'til you try sometimes.

Strange. I installed the SLP T/C reversal module before I had my stroker built. I was embarrassed one too many times in the burnout box at the track, so I installed one. Now, since we've been trying to tune with HPTuners, when I start the car, sometimes the TCS defaults to "ON", and sometimes it stays "OFF". We've also logged a wheel speed sensor fault while the car is just sitting there idling. This tuning stuff weirds me out. It's like my car has now suddenly developed a mind of its own....unfortunately for me, it's the mind of a rebellious teenager.

A bad wheel sensor will definitely cause the TCS to stay off, but with your reverse logic thing, that's just weird. In about a month, my TCS and ABS will no longer work. Oh well I suppose...
