Default 98 A4 WOT Shifting

Is it possible that 98s only use the RPM WOT table for shifting and ignore the MPH table?

Don't get me wrong for asking but, what evidence do you have to support this claim?

Anything's possible, but my experience with my car tells me no. I had to drop the values in my WOT by VSS table down to prevent early shifts.

Interesting, could you elaborate on this? I always upped the values. One time a friend suggested I zero out the shift by VSS and that definitely did not work on my car. Always willing to learn/try something new that is not too insane/lean.

Because a 98 car I recently tuned swapped from a 2.73 to a 3.73 rear. I told him he would probably bang the limiter on WOT shifts until I corrected his speedo and scaled his shift tables. He's now saying it is shifting without banging the limiter and I haven't scaled anything yet. I know that on a 00 that did the same swap, it hit the limiter horribly until I scaled the tables. Just wondering why the 98 isn't.

I have zeroed this table with great results on some trucks with gear swaps, works for some, doesnt for others.
