what are the best computer tuners for the LS1
I was hoping you advanced performance techs could tell me what type of computer tuners you are using to tune the ls1 ecu. Have any of you been using the HP tuner if so how hard is it to use and is it a good tuner to buy, and what other tuners are there that are good? What I am doing is I am putting a 98 LS1 in a 97 sonoma and I am using the painless wiring assembly but I wonted to tune the ecu.
THE HELP WOULD BE GREAT!!!! THANKS

I would suggest that you do a search in the PCM Forum. There are several good tuners on the market and hundreds of opinions as to which is best and why. The question has been asked many times before so I would request that you use search (it's working again now thanks to Brains) and not re-ask the question.
No matter which hardware/software you use, there is a lot to learn. It's rewarding and frustrating at the same time. You will also need a wide-band air to fuel ratio (WBAFR) system as part of the equipment in my opinion. There are mainly two things to adjust in tuning: mixture and spark timing. However, there are many aspects of adjusting each of these components and you can expect to spend at least six months to be any good at it if you really do some research. Tuning is not something you can do as a casual interest!
