Gen 7 Install
I have had a Gen 7 waiting patiently a few year in a box and I'd like to fineally use it... but... Has there been much sucess keeping the factory gauges, e-tranny controll, etc to work along with it... Is there a piggy back harness out??? I basically want to keep all stock stuff operational minus A/C.
Or is there better way to tune SD and use ..say..92lb injectors.

I run the BS3 along with the stock PCM, only thing that doesnt work on mine is the stock tach since I didnt want to tap off the crank sensor signal. I just took apart the stock harness and removed all the wiring I didnt use. Plus shut off every SES code in the stock PCM.
If you are going to try to keep an electronicly controlled trans then you would need an rpm signal to the stock PCM. I never tried it when I had the gen7 on my old car but mightymouse had issues tapping off the crank sensor with his gen7 if I remember.
Honestly if you need the controls for the trans I would just get an injector driver box and use one of the 2-3 BAR custom operating systems from HPT or EFIlive. Unless you have a 98 then the only option is the HPT 2BAR. If you want to stay with a standalone ecm a BS3 will control 4L60/80s I believe.
