Default Quarter Mile Customs- WTF???

Aight, My boy is an idiot and went and bought this "power chip" off of Ebay for like $25. Its called the Quarter Mile modular performance chip. Anybody heard of it???? Its a small black box that you hook up to your Idle air Temp sensor. By the way this is all for a LT1 Camaro. Let me know what you all think. Whats the best programmer for the LT1? or is better to take it somewhere to get it tuned. Thanks for the help.

Does it wire into the IAT? I see a bunch of these on ebay. All they do is trick the PCM into running leaner. They are a waste of money. get something like LT1 Edit, which is a real tuner software.

Your boy's hunger for more power is admirable yet yet unfocused. Before he goes out and buys more magic beans have him ask himself "Do I have the time and mental and monetary resources to get into tuning?" If all he wants is to go fast and get hot chicks then find a reptuable tuner and be done with it. If the answer was yes then share the secret you are obviously holding back from him and turn him on to this site and begin the journey.

You've been had.

As a rule of thumb, any product that claims "up to" x amount of HP, always cut it in half and you might be close but probably not.

My idiot buddy has been had! He's just one of those impluse buyers that can't resit to just buy something instead of doing some research first. He's not that hard into the really fast thing, I keep telling him all he needs are the basic bolt-ons and apperance mods. Thanks fellas.
