Question EFI LIVE USERS - De acceleration

I have my tune fairly good now but when I close the throttle to slow down there is not much de acceleration. What should I look at? Like driving down a steep mountain road, how can I get the most de acceleration effect to help keep my speed down? Thanks in advance for any help.

Check out your Throttle Cracker airflow table and try reducing the values for whatever speed you require. Also make sure the decay rates are where they should be.

Desired airflow an also give a cruise control effect on decel as well.

I would setup a log file and see what kind of air is being requested at that condition.

Another good one to check is DFCO. Once the fuel cuts off you get a fair amount of engine braking.

Yeah I would go with the DFCO route this way you are saving gas and getting some engine braking at the same time

Now, the car goes into DFCO a little more aggressive than stock where as before it wasn't kicking in at all. With aftermarket cams and their bigger durations, manifold vacuum isn't as strong. So, you need to adjust the enablers on DFCO to get that "engine "brake" feeling back.

Thank you everyone. I'll work on my DFCO. For some reason I thought only the Holden Vehicles were able to use DFCO so I never touched it. I wonder if there is anything else I don't know. (that's a joke, I have so much to learn).
thanks again

Glad to see it worked out for you. If you need anything else, let us know. We all are still learning.

We all love DFCO. Mine is super aggressive and on almost any time my foot is off the gas. Try UK $7/Gal fuel for focusing your fuel economy!

The holdens have Lean Cruise which sets them apart. Its based on achieving a set road speed and airflow after a base time has elapsed, then the mix is leaned out. Thats probably what you are thinking of.

Wow, and I grumble about the prices here in the US. That lean cruise sounds like a nice feature that I wish the vehicles here would have. I have spent countless hours (with moderate success) attempting to maximize my steady cruise mileage.
