Default dumb question, but, efilive I or V2 ?

I mean, 250 to 700 ............. mmmmmmmmmmm, is there THAT much in there in the v2 to warrant getting the v2 if I am just tuning my one vehicle? I am not saying that it is not worth it persay, but, if you dont mind dragging a laptop with you and all, could use v1 and get a wideband for all that.............ehy or ney ?????

V2 supports LS2's and Ls1's.....V1 supports the same as V2 Except LS2's.

$249 is the cost for the FlashScan V1 Scan Tool, so that will not allow you to tune your vehicle.

The start price for what you really need is $549 for both the FlashScan V1 Scan and Tune package, assuming of course that your vehicle is a LS1/6 based vehicle.

If it is an LS2 based vehicle then your only option is FlashScan V2 Scan and Tune which is $749.

Either way a wideband is a very good option, a necessity really!

I am very new to the tuning world but I opted for the V2 mainly because of the future upgradeability etc. and I like the prospects of the standalone abilities.

Yeah, The V2 is definatly worth the extra money. It provides alot more possibilities. OBD1 to can. So who knows what the EFILive guys have in mind for us all.

The price is very cheap for what you are getting. The V2 is a very powerful tool. Also you get the 97-98 stream for free so that is like they are giving you 1000.00

Sounds, pretty good, but, well, I see they went to the v2 and ditched the v1, so, are they going to be making new models every other year?

No, V1 is limited to OBD2 protocal. The V2 was designed to be flash upgradeable and is compatible with ALL Gm protocals. So, it should be good for a VERY long time.

The V1 is still being sold.

I went with the V1 and LM1 to save some money, however, I have already decided I will upgrade. If you can swing it, get the V2 and be done with it. It will cost me more in the long run to upgrade.

Which ever version you get, you will really like it.
