Default Sound like a bad cam position sensor?

Got this car at my shop that we recently done a motor swap on. Well everything is fine except is keeps throwing 2 codes for the cam position sensor. Ive cleared them out multiple times. The strange thing is the tack will only go to about 3700rpm then is it will drop to zero for a sec then pick back up until it gets to around 3700 rpm again then it will go back to zero. Does this sound like the CPS is the culprit?

Sounds like the cam sensor. You need to verify the voltage to the PCM side connector with the ignition on to make sure it's getting the correct voltage.

Do you have a LS2 type front cam sensor and adapter cable?

Nope. Its a 347 LS1. Heres a little background on the car. The guy pulled out of his work sprayed it running about 20mph, needless to say that didnt end up good. Blew the intake off, burnt the maf, busted the airbox, broke the Oil pressure sending unit, and shredded the wires on the cam sensor. I wired them back together and put a new intake one and the motor was shot. Keep in mind after me wiring them back together the sensor worked fine, Tach never flenched.

Installed new motor, started it and drove it easy for awhile. Then noticed the tach wouldnt move over 3700rpm and it keep throwing the cam sensor codes. Ive double checked the wiring all still intact. So Im wondering if the sensor jsut died like that. All grounds are good.
