Default idle question

ok heres the deal. i have to get a mail order tune because i gotta go through emissions next month and the ses light is on cause of the L/T's. but i figure since i gotta get a mail order tune anyways why not play around a little. so the question is could i get the idle lowered to make the car sound more lopey with the stock cam? or would this be a bad idea?

Yeah you can do it but its pointless to do with the stock cam really, it may lope just a tiny bit. Go ahead and try it out

i just don't want to run into any drivability problems or anything cause its my DD and any down time sucks since i would have to send it back for reprogramming.

You may end up with charging issues if you have an underdrive crank pulley, your A/C won't blow as hard, and your power steering pump might not like you. Other than that, it won't hurt a thing. I have my idle set at 450 on an M6.
