tuning a 4k stall
What specific tuning needs to be done when using a 4k stall? I'm using the stock settings and it I noticed it shifts wierd or late or to fast sometimes. There are no miss fires and the tranny is new.

Stock settings for a 4000 plus stall do not work well at all. For my Yank PT4000 stall it took significant tuning and adjustments to make it streetable. This was especially true for part throttle. Same goes for my friends Fuddle 4000. Do you have tuning software?

I think there were duplicate threads. I never posted up the tables because it'd be easier just to email the tune. But, I think he may be using HPT....which makes things a little difficult since I'm on EFI Live. Too bad we can't save tunes as .bin files like we used to.

Stock part throttle shift points are too low for cars with 3500+ stalls. I'd raise your part throttle shift points. That will take some of the slop out.
Add 2 mph to the 1-2
Add 3 mph to the 2-3
Add 4 mph to the 3-4
I'd also raise (but less) the downshift speeds.
Also locking in 3rd and staying a little longer in third gear before upshifting to 4th and immediately locking in 4th seems improve the feel.
That will get you started and you adjust to your personnal taste from there.
