Emissions trouble.. can't pass the emissions readiness test
Lets see..
The car has headers, no rear o2's, and the AIR pump is removed..
For the last 2 months I have been trying to pass the readiness test. Ive followed a couple walk-threws about which codes to have on and off. I've had a couple of my "LS1 tuning" friends try to fix it, all with no luck... Finally i droped off my car to Speed Inc to let the pros take a crack at it, and i'm still getting the same 3 missing emissions codes. I was told I need to complete a few driving cycles before it will work.
I've put a hundred highway/city miles on the car since the last time the PCM has was flashed and im still getting the same 3 codes missing???? The same 3 codes that it had when I dropped off the car to Speed Inc.
Is it possible this could be a hardware problem? or a bad PCM?
I could post my either of my bin files if it would help.
John

Dunno...but thinking www.obdii.com/drivecycle.html should take care of the readiness tests like speed said? Maybe I'm not understanding something too - A/C system refrigerant isn't an emissions readiness test is it? So glad we don't have to deal with emissions tests down here.

seriously, all you have to do is cut off all the DTC and MIL status of the 02's and such that are for the readiness tests....
it took me a while also to actually get it right on this, a friend helped me out and told me all the codes

I already failed the test once because of the "N/A's" that showed up when I took the Illinois emmisions test. They said im only allowed to be missing one of the eight tests, which im guessing would be EGR in my case.
I tried messing with the DTC's and I could only get it to this point... the screen shot was after Speed Inc's Emissions Tune.

Unless im not meeting the requirements for "cold starting", I'm almost positive that i've been completing driving cycles.

That is invalid i think...
The NA values they should ignore. That means the system is not on your car so they dont need to see if it is complete or not.
The Emmission test will fail if you have 2 or more that say NOT READY.
there is a difference between not ready and not availible.
Go to a different inspection station.

I'm just worried that if I fail again the 3rd test is visual inspection

You guys are missing my point.
In the system, if it says N/A then that means the system does not exsist on that platform.
If it says "NOT READY" then it is used on the vehicle but not completed yet.
So according to that picture above, You have passed all the tests and they care completed. The ones that Say "NA" are NOT ON YOUR CAR SO THEY ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR DETERMINING A PASS OR FAIL OF YOUR CAR.

Thats what I was thinking, but the emissions guy thought otherwise.. not that that is saying much.
Do you think I should give the test another shot?

MAKE SURE ALL OF YOUR FOLLOWING CODES ARE OFF:
02'S
EGR
AIR
and a few others from what i remember but that may be it... just turn ALL of them OFF
MAKE SURE TO TURN THEM OFF UNDER DTC's AND MIL STATUS , otherwise it won't work
i did this and it worked, if you need to shoot me a pm and we can exchange numbers and i can open my EFI LIVE file and you open your HPTuners and we can walk through what ones to cut off

I paid Speed Inc money to make my car pass emissions and i'm still getting this result. There has to be some reason why my car isn't running the A/C and Heated Catalyst test.
I'm pretty sure wait4me has it right, when it reads "N/A" its not even trying to test them during a driving cycle.
If I put a hole new PCM in my car out of another emission tuned 02 Ls1, do you guys think that it might do the trick? ...or would that be retarded?

I got my car dynotuned last week and went to get it inspectd today and i had the same problem, i got an evap not ready, the O2 not ready and the EGR not ready. I had the EGR deleted and pulled from the PCM so i have no idea why that would even show, and all my emmissions codes shut off, so no clue and once again i hate all computers
