Default Start up Idle hunt and throttle response issues

Moved this over here because I guess its tune related.

I have had the MS3 in and tuned for a couple weeks now, the issue is if the car has sat overnight it will fire up and hold idle fine but if the car is already warm it will drop low twice before it catches idle. Did a search and found some threads that relate but nothing sayin "this is what fixed my issue". I would like to when I have the money get an Speed Density tune but don't know where in my area I could have one done.

As for the throttle lag, my buddy noticed it the other night when we were recharging the A/C. With the MAF sensor plugged in it throttles up slower than if the MAF sensor is unplugged. Any ideas on what could cause this and how to fix it?

I did a cam swap over the winter, sicne then, even after I had it tuned by our local speed shop, I had a very simular start-up idle/hunt issue.

If my car was cold, warm or hot, upon start-up the rpms would hunt down from 400rpms up to 1500 rpms for about 10-20 seconds. Sometimes it would even stall out.

So I've finally figured out what table needed more tuning, the Main VE table.

I know your anxiously waiting to read exactly what I changed, but my notes on this are at home, and I'm at work right now. So I'll update my post here later on tonight! I promise.

Desired Airflow.

Sounds like you have a couple of cells right before full warm up that need to be adjusted. In order to tune this the tuner needs to log the event from a total cold startup. This is where a Road Runner really shines with the realtime tuning.

As for unplugging the MAF, this will put you in SD which appears in your case to highlight errors in the MAF calibration table, i.e. it appears to be better?

Okay, here is what I did to fix my start-up issue, using ls1-edit:

Under Fuel, Main VE Table:
Multiply column 400 rpm by 60%
Multiply column 800 by 80%
Multiply column 1200 by 90%

Good luck!
