Default diablo predator tuning Help

Well I just got my predator and am trying to figure out how to do some basic tweaking. I would really appreciate the info or help, so here are my questions.

1.) How do I change the engine rev limit? I would like the truck to shift at at least 6000 rpms. I changed the rev limit settings to 6000 but the truck doesnt always shift at 6000 when I floor it. Do I have to play with the shift point settings to do this? I dont really want the truck to ALWAYS shift at 6000. ONLY at wide open throttle.

2.) Is 6000 rpms the HIGHEST I can set my rev limit?, not that I want to. I noticed the predator seems to only allow reving to 6000!

3.) I installed the basic diablo tune. Does this adjust the tranny shift points? What about shift firmness?

Do I need to manually play with these settings?

4.) If I press the tow/haul mode, with the basic diablo tune, will my truck drive normal like its in tow/haul mode, or is this the way to activate performance tranny settings.

5.) Finally does anyone have any numbers then can post or email me with THEIR OWN settings? I am specifically interested in TRANNY SHIFT POINTS at mph and rpm, and SHIFT LINE PRESSURE.

6.) What about torque management? Is there a way to delete or adjust this? Is this already programmed into the diablo basic tune?

7.) How do I adjust for a 160 degree thermostat?

Anyway I REALLY would appreciate any answers to my questions. The truck seems to shift stronger and is a bit more responsive.

Maybe someone, including me could work on developing a diablo predator FAQ. There are so many ways to tune it and the manual with the predator is VERY BASIC. If anyone is interested in helping to put together a FAQ let me know.

You have a truck and all of my experience is car-
based but here goes.

I've seen people saying they have a 100MPH
speed limiter on their truck, maybe there are
lower rev limitations too. I bet these can be
overridden by the Predator but the way they
come from DiabloSport, they seem to be trying
to keep people from hurting themselves. If
you are running into some programming limits
that bother you, start keeping a list and
when you have gotten to the limits of what
you can do, talk to the dealer you bought from
about getting some of these things opened up.

You have per-gear rev limits for automatics. I
set all of these to 6200 ON, 6190 OFF. This has
to be well above your chosen shift points.

All of my RPM shift points are set to 6000RPM.
I belive trucks may have dual-mode transmissions
(haul/sport or some such). The Predator I have,
has the normal and performance subsets of shift
points. I set them all the same because I don't
know which is real (I think a Camaro SS ought
to only use the Performance ones but no
certainty there; just kill 'em all).

Set your MPH shift points to the speed corresponding
to 6000RPM upshifts. This will prevent you short-
shifting (if you hit the MPH first you will upshift).
If you want to encourage an earlier part-throttle
kickdown I think (from my playing around) that
further increasing the MPH shiftpoints will make
the kick come in sooner. Your fat girl could
probably use a little slap in the *** to get her
going.

I don't know if the Predator touches shift settings
with the canned performance tune, but it does get
rid of torque management and this will put more
power through the shifts (or, rather, quit reducing
it). You should cut the shift times by the max -25%
and play with the line pressure (firmness) to suit
yourself; I use +15%, +20% and +25% for 1-2, 2-3, 3-4
and the only reason I keep 1-2 low is because it
barks the tires even at +15% (need better tires).

Set your low speed fan so it is on at 10F below the
thermostat's operating temperature. This makes sure
your 'stat is in control, not the headwind. Use the
real-time monitoring to see ECT at light load and
decent airflow (like highway). If T is your stable
'stat temperature then set FAN1 ON = T-5, OFF = T-10;
FAN2 ON = T+10, OFF=T+5. This will make sure you have
cooling at idle that keeps you at setpoint, and that
if you overrun FAN1 cooling capacity FAN2 will keep
you a maximum of 10F hotter but seldom run in normal
driving.

Wow thanks for all the help.

After driving my truck this morning and yesterday I have discovered that my top speed 100mph limiter is now gone! Now my truck really hauls and its amazing how hard it pulls at these speeds. These LS1 based engines are awesome.

I also noticed that torque management is definitely gone! Now if I quickly jab the gas from a stop the rear end barks the tires, the posi locks and Im off! Its very cool and now my truck drives like I think it should!

I dont have electric fans so some of the settings you mentioned dont apply to me. I will be sure to definitely play with the shift speed, line pressure settings and rev limits.

I noticed that my max revlimit is 6000 rpms. According to my SOTP observations 6000 is definitely as high as I need or want to go with a stock cam/springs,etc.

Once again thanks for the info!
