Default Can I tune in a weekend

I am considering getting HPT to tune the car after i do my H/C/I swap and the problem comes in as this car is my daily driver. I need the car to get to work on monday.

I am a Computer Science major so i know my way around a computer and i know the different sensors in the car due to the fact that i fix cars as my way of paying for school. SO i think i can tune my car i am just concerned will i be able to do it in one weekend or will it be easier to just pay Cartek to do it?

ALso the cam i am putting in is rather small it is a 226/228 on 114 LSA +4.

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

Default Pay Cartek!

Pay Cartek and ask questions. You can do the minor changes down the road instead of stopping back.

I assume your in Northern NJ?

If you are basically done with the mods, pay Cartek. If you like to change things, get a tuning tool. Don't expect to be able to tune it in a weekend though. It take a while to learn the tool and how to tune. You should be able to get it running though and improve it from there.

Yeah your not going to learn how to tune in a weekend unfortunately though you may be able to get the idle pretty decent in that amount of time even with limited knowledge...tuning software is an investment in that you can use it to tune your current vehicle, your next vehicle, the vehicle after that & so on

A cam that size shouldn't be undriveable until you dial the tune in, so don't get too hung up on having to finish in one weekend. Just don't hammer on it until you get the tune pretty close.
