What are Ya'lls HP#s Before and After Tune?
What are ya'lls horsepower and torque numbers before and after tuning?
I need to have my car professionally tuned I think, my 1/4 mile times are slow for all the mods I have. I was really just wondering if the tuning is worth the money.
P.S. I'm using a Hypertech programmer right now, and I believe it sucks.

Yeah the HP plug in tuners with the set choices are a waste of time if you have many mods. They're pretty much for beefing up a stock or slightly modified car. Once you do many mods its a waste of time because they don't compensate for those mods. Your better off going to a performance shop and having a custom tune made so they can set the parameters for what you have. I have a full custom tune with Speed Density and I think it cost around $350 if I remember right, but its worth it

"Scott Racing and Performance" in Blue Ash, OH makes them. It's got 224/228 duration and .591" lift on both intake and exhaust. They call it that because they have several cam only cars with it that put down 400 RWHP with it. It's a nasty cam.

From what Ive seen on my cars and others (cam or H/C cars) tuning usually will give 15hp 20hp or so but the car will run WAY better and fell WAY better. The idle will be better, overall the car will just run better. Its also very important to have your timing and A/F set correctly. I'm really **** on that **** and have a good wideband and Im always monitoring it. I think FI cars will see more with tuning aswell, they will need a more in depth tune.

I'm guessing prices aren't too much different from Texas and Ohio for these types of things. I got a complete custom written tune including a speed density tune for $350, but you should be able to just get a plain custom tune for around $200

Tuning is always a good choice IMO. Some places charge $500+ for dyno tunes but shop around and you can find some for $300 or so. Also...damn that girl is hot in your avatar...want to touch the hiney!

hello, i had a mail order tune first, it was alright but not perfect. i got what i paid for (except they didnt delete my EGR or up my rev limiter to 6400rpm) texas speed did my mail tune on sale for $150. i just had a local tuner adjust my a/f and picked up 13 rwhp (really 10 or 11 plus a spike of 2) now my a/f is 13.1 :1. my timimg he said was 28 degrees. i read a article that said timing from factory is 32 oh well! (mail order a/f was 13.6 to 13.8:1) in fairness i did tell them to error on the side of street drivability on my mail order.
