Default MAF failure causes

On my LS1 conversion I got an 0102 code. Turned out to be dead MAF. Replaced w/ new one and worked fine for a few days and now appears to have failed again. Any ideas on causes of MAF failure? Didnt have any backfires, no forced induction etc. Thanks

Dumb question: cable? Connector?
Can you check the voltage going to the MAF?
Do you have a filter? The stock screen?

Actually it started working again. It is a stock untouched MAF w/ screen intact. Cable throttle body

I would check out the wiring and connectors to the MAF and the MAP sensors. Our MAF problem was an intermittent ground on the MAP sensor connector.
