Default IAC reading 310 all time!!

Is that normal. What could be wrong. Idle is low and sometimes stalls.

Got DTC P0420 &P0430 and reset them but keep coming back. Cats are removed but O2 are still there.

What to do?

If the IAC is functioning properly, you either need to open the throttle blade via the set screw and do a TPS reset or you need to drill out the hole in the throttle blade so that it's bigger.

As sspd said. You'll need to adjust the throttle or drill a bigger hole. The IAC is maxing out to try and allow enough airflow to keep the engine idleing. Recent cam install? Modding anything involving the TB?

As for the efficiency codes (P0420,P0430). Without cats the rear O2 starts reading the same os the front O2's due to removal of the cats. The rear O2's read at different mv to tell the PCM that the cats are working. Without cats both baks start reading too close in mv thowing the eff. codes. You'll need to have the rear O2's turned off via a tuning program or purchase a set of O2 simulators and plug them in the rear O2 harness plugs. You can leave the O2's in there, just unplug them and tie the wires up out of the way and put the simulators in.

Thanks all for the responses.

Engine is stock only K&N CAI. It was running fine until battery was disconnected then reconnected. Isn't the IAC reading supposed to change with TPS. Isn't a bad IAC going to through a code?

I am checking it using Interceptor gauge. I reset the O2 codes but they came on again after minutes. Didn't detect other codes for the IAC. Will clean the IAC and see.

Violatorno1,

Good explanation. What's the part# for O2 simulators and who sells them.

Sometime, it surges like a cammed car, at stop light while in Drive and break applied.

Log and see if your "desired IAC position" is also 310. If it is, your IAC probably isn't bad, it's just doing what its told. If your IAC is open that wide and still can't hold an idle you have some other problem, probably with spark or fuel.
