Default Failed Inspection

Failed my North Carolina inspection because comms could not be established with the computer. I had brought the car in to the dealership with the SES light on because of the cats about 150 miles ago. They replaced the cats and cleared the code. I'm going to call the dealership tom. to ask, but in the meantime, any ideas. I know the cig lighter is on the same fuse, and the lighter is working. thanks

He's saying cig lighter is on the same fuse as the connector used for inspection. I don't know maybe you got a bent pin.

Check the CIG/ACCY fuse, if it's fine and you're getting power to the DLC the problem is probably on the inspectors side. Don't know what they mean by "comms" - maybe you had a couple not readys? I'd check for voltage at the DLC and if that's good I'd do some drive cycles/put some miles on it. Used to live in Cary, glad I got out of there before OBDII testing took effect.

I'd visually inspect the DLC connector/wiring behind it. If Auto Zone got their's to work NC shouldn't have a problem either? Here's the pins: www.obdii.com/connector.html
