Default lets play " fix that problem " !! p0131

well my car decided to do some very light surging under light throttle. then i got the p0131 code for low voltage bank 1 sensor 1. i just put the bosch 13111 sensors in about 2k miles ago. when the SES code came on the car smoothed out. i pulled both the o2s in case the wires were grounding out. the drivers o2 was blacker than black. so i replaced them both and ran the as far as i could from anything that would ground it or melt them.

i cleared the code and drove it 2 times putting on 15.9 miles so far. it still feels like it may be surging a little but no SES light. the only thing different in the last couple days is it been very hot and humid.

mods are : hooker LTs, TSP ORY, hooker catback, MTI lid, comp 918s, msd wires, some volt booster thing, spec 4f clutch....no a/c no emissions..... the tune was a crappy street tune. seems to be running very rich. the rear o2's were tuned out.

now i'm doing a cam install next week and will be getting it completely tuned... but why would i be running low volts? i have a rock solid idle. the surging is sooo light under very light throttle passangers don't notice it. it was noticeable before i replaced the o2's but i feel like its still there...

any ideas would be appreciated

I had the same problem with those Bosch's. I took those back and got some used o2 stockers from a guy off of here and now its fine. They have less fins to allow the air to pass through. Some people have widened them and that fixed it, some drilled holes and that fixed it.

The O2 isn't getting hot enough. Those Bosch's are junk, just go OEM.

If it's places too far from the heat source it will malfunction. I would try to move them a little closer to the engine, or see if OEM's will let enough airflow through to let them heat up.

they are on my headers. i don't have rears... the new ones seem to be working... i haven't got to drive it a lot but i did some WOT runs and it pulled well. no surging from what i could tell. no codes...
