i have an 06 gto that was tuned with ls2edit and the performance shop where it was tuned says they didnt lock the pcm, but efilive will not allow me to download the tune out of the pcm and the v2 is already licenced for the car. the pcm is a e40. does anybody know why this would be? thanks

If i understand correctly your trying to read the LS2Edit tune with EFI Live, and you have already Licensed your PCM with EFI Live?

It is for sure locked if ls2 touched it. The only way to unlock it is to put that computer back to stock using that ls2 cable i believe.

LS2edit by default locks the pcm...unless your tuner turned off the tunerlock function it will lock all pcm's so he might not even be aware of this fact.

Here is the answer I got from ken at carputing.

Mike,

The current LS2-edit locks by default, But the tuner can check a box
to not lock the file. We are working on a release that will unlock by
default and make the programmer select lock if needed. The default
setting has caused problems were tuners don't realize they are locking.
Any LS2-edit tuner can unlock the E40 ECM.

Hey, how does that tune work that you want to put in my car? I thought only a timing tuner would do what you told me..

You just zero out the added fuel and it will only pull timing and not add any fuel.

Hey, you were the one bingeing all weekend.

Mike sent me the new COS and Cal but you need to tap into a PIN on the PCM to make it work.

Mike - Can you send me a copy of your 05 GTO stock file? I need the MAF table for my TB SS.
