Default HELP<What are the two sensors on the T.B.?

What are the 2 sensors located on the driver side of my throttle body on my 02 ws6. Ones on top, the other under it. Also, can I adjust my idle down @ 300 rpms by turning the throttle set screw adjustment? Thanks for the help.

top one is the Idle Air Control (IAC) bottom is Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

don't think it will run at 300 rpms. at 500 rpms, mine gets very surgy.

No you cant change the idle with the setscrew. Idle rpm is set in the pcm.

You can run lower than that easily (maybe 520 min) but what about your alternator? Hope you like low voltage.

Think old Mad Max used to do that to squeeze out every drop he could.

yes, if the throttle blade is set open right now, but you would have to physically look inside there.

Any change to the throttle blade will just be overridden by the iac valve as the pcm tries to regain control of the engine speed.

If you removed the IAC motor the engine would climb up in RPM really high because so much air is shooting through the TB. You would have to try and figure out how much of it to close off with epoxy. I guess you could do it since these cars have adaptive spark and short term fuel correction. Would be WAY not worth the frusteration in my opinion.

Sorry about the confusion guys. I meant I need to lower my idle too 800. It currently idles @ 1100-1200 rpms. Also, the blade is cracked open slightly, but I figure thats normal. I'm looking for a quick and easy fix for the idle problem. But more than likely I'll have too have it re-tuned. Could my I.A.C be bad? What happens if that goes bad. Thanks for the help and suggestions!

ur blade could be misadjusted. try playin with the idle set screw if its idiling that high. 300 is a big differnce from 800.
