Default Is there a way to look at all RPMs and speed the car has been to with HPtuners?

I was thinking, if i ever was to let my Brother drive my car. When he got back home could i hook up my HPtuners and see what RPMs and stuff like that was reached. I would just like to know if there is a way to do it so i can see what he drove the car like. Does anyone have a clue how to do this? Or is it even possible? Maybe where i can see the TPS %'s and all that good stuff ..

I just want to make sure my car isn't being beat on while hes driving it!! I'm not to familiar with HPtuners yet but im just still trying to learn it all.

Thanks

Couldn't you stash a laptop in the back seat and log the PCM?

the OBD2 cable coming from the port on an fbody is pretty obvious unless you purchase one of those L cables and tuck the wiring through the center console & such.

Well that sux i was hoping it could store some info ..

Well it was worth the question i guess. Maybe ill just do the speed and RPM changes so he cant beat on it even if he wants to.

Thanks guys, but ya i think he will definitely notice the laptop in the back seat with all the cables and stuff running from the port LOL.

get a tach that has max rpm memory. reset it before he drives it and then hit the button to see how high he revved it. thats what i do with my Stewart Warner digital tach.

Good call....Autometer also has those D-pic gauges that can store hours of info.

If my brother didn't seem that trustworthy I don't think I'd let him drive it, regardless of logging capability. It doesn't matter what gets logged if the car gets wrapped around a pole.

Just keep him the hell out of your car. That's what I'd do.

yea i ya have any doubt, i wouldnt put him behind the wheel of your car. stick a tape recorder in there so you can hear how high the rpms are climbing, how fast he's shifting, and by the pitch of the rpm and if you can count what gear he's in, you can get an idea of how fast hes goin.

put in a 3000rpm limiter via hptuners and you'll have no worries.

^^^^^+1 thats EXACTLY what I was thinking. Rev limiter at 3000 or 4000 should keep him out of trouble. Set the PE table to 75+ Kpa and the speed limiter to 65 as well.

Ah thats too much work, just tell him to ride his bike!

I've got a data logger I picked up somewhere (Pep Boys I think), it's the size of a Zippo and plugs into the diagnostic port. It can be programed to log up to 5 channels and records when ever the engine is running for up to four hours (after which it strats recording over). I used to use it for busting my son.

But I echo what everybody else said. If you don't trust him, don't let him drive it.

You've got me thinking about this now. One thing you could do is alter the TPS fail parametres. I'm not sure if this will log a freeze frame but it will throw a code to let you know if its been flogged. My thinking would be to say alter the TPS vs RPM chart to bring the TPS value down to around 50% above 4800rpm or something like that. Don't forget to crank up the TPS Test MAX MAP too or I don't think it will fail under full throttle. I might incorporate something like this into my valet tune from now on.

You could disable power enrichment set all the shift points so it wont go over 5k rpm and put a rev limiter wat 5050 rpm
