Default No tach, cam sensor code

A little info on car. 02 ta, new 408, single turbo.

Problem is the car will start and idle fine and the tach is working. Once I rev the motor the tach stops, once idle returns for a minute the tach starts working again. The car is throwing a cam sensor high low code. I replaced the sensor and checked the supply and signal to the sensor. While the car is running the supply is 13 volts and the signal wire back is 5-6 volts, white wire to the tach is 4-5 volts. Even when the tach dies or I rev the motor this stays the same. I checked the signal for the crank for reference and it's 6 volts. I'm sure the sensor is switching too fast for my meter to read correctly, but it is reading something.

I've checked all the grounds, pcm power supply and ground. I'm scratching my head now. I've read a couple old threads where the cam was the problem. I hope its not that. Could a case relearn help? Any ideas?

Check the extension harness for the cam sensor - a lot of them have the wires reversed.

Also make sure you have the proper 1x cam gear and not the newer 4x cam gear.

No extension. Iron block. Keep em coming. I'm about to sledge hammer the car.
