Default How bad is PO751 1-2 shift solonoid stuck off?

Just had my car in for LS1 edit , dyno tuning, and a check on the differential. Told the differential was fine and to ignore the thumping on the 1-2 shift and downshift. Now I am getting PO751 code with stuck shift solonoid 1-2.

How bad is this??

My 1-2 shift and 2-1 downshift have been hitting with a thump for two months. Had it inspected three times without finding the problem. Took the car out of shop last week, thump has worsened and read the codes last night.

At first it was a hard shift, then a stronger thump, now a hard thump followed by a growl.

Need to get this fixed, someone, tell me what is involved in changing a solenoid, and how much a shop will charge to get it done.

if you really want to clear it up, take down the transmission pan, its the solenoid on the driver side of the transmission. take it out, use some brake clean and clean the shift valve also, and put it all back together. common problem in a 4L60-E. the part is about 10 bucks and then get a pan gasket. should fix ya right up
